The MAFMIC PAC was created in 1988 to support candidates who had, or were likely to support the mutual insurance industry. The MAFMIC PAC is not designed to support only one party, but rather to contribute to candidates of either party who are supportive of our positions.
Political Action Committees – including the MAFMIC PAC – are an excellent way for small contributors to have their voices heard by combining their resources and giving as one unified group. The PAC strives to be fully transparent and all receipts and expenditures are required by law to be reported to the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board.
The MAFMIC PAC sub-committee within the MAFMIC committee structure makes decisions regarding where to spend the money raised and how additional money should be raised. This committee consists of the following positions: MAFMIC Chairman, MAFMIC chairman-elect, MAFMIC Government Affairs Committee chairman, MAFMIC Government Affairs Committee vice-chairman, MAFMIC PAC Chairman, MAFMIC PAC Treasurer, and MAFMIC President/CEO.
Minnesota state law prohibits contributions from corporations which means all the money that is collected for the MAFMIC PAC comes from generous individuals all over Minnesota.
The MAFMIC PAC has continued to grow and we greatly appreciate the support of our members who make the PAC possible.
