Congressional Contact Program

MAFMIC has participated for 15 years in the Congressional Contact Program (CCP). This is a grassroots lobbying program of MAFMIC Company Managers and Directors traveling to Washington DC to meet with the Minnesota Congressional Delegation.

This effort is coordinated with NAMIC's Washington Office and attendees are informed on federal issues affecting the insurance industry. Appointments are made with all 8 members of the U.S. House of Representatives and both U.S, Senators. In 2006 we had 34 participants, including family members, make the visitation. Minnesota once again showed its' leadership with the largest delegation of any state.

The CCP Program continues to be an effective tool in helping members of Congress better understand our mutuals and the insurance industry thereby preventing harmful legislation from passing.
