Minnesota Insurance Executives Receive Merit Award

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 29, 2006) -- Debora Liden from Bray-Gentilly Mutual Insurance Company in Thief River Falls, Marcus Marsh from Minnesota Association of Farm Mutual Insurance Companies in St. Joseph, Allan Muehlhausen from Kelso Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Le Sueur, Harlan Rise from Halstad Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Halstad, and Laurie Wellnitz from Agassiz & Odessa Mutual Insurance Company in Odessa have been presented with Merit Awards.

Liden, Marsh, Muehlhausen, Rise, and Wellnitz were five of nine individuals from across the country to receive the Merit Award during the recent 111th annual convention of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) held in Tampa, Florida.

The NAMIC Merit Award encourages the advancement of professionalism in the insurance industry. The award is designed to encourage the professional development of qualified individuals associated with NAMIC member companies and to recognize those who demonstrate educational attainment, service or contributions through NAMIC or State/Provincial association activities.

Award recipients are enrolled as members of the NAMIC Merit Society and are eligible to attend society meetings and receive benefits as determined by the Society's Board of Directors. As a group, the Merit Society is a major sponsor to the Insurance Education Institute, which helps educate high school teachers on insurance issues.
